April Surf Wrapup
One of the great attractions of Samoa for me (Andrew) was the prospect of quality surfing. Certainly it promised more than the other two postings Amanda applied for - Vietnam and Cambodia.
After a slow start in March whilst waiting for boards to arrive and working out which spots work in which conditions, April produced what is hopefully only a taste of what is still to come.
We got consistent swells on the north coast throughout the month, and from particularly easter onwards some great waves on the south, with days at spots such as boulders, coconuts, y-tops, pebbles, Village lefts.
I've made friends with a few surfers over here, but its rare to have too many in the water.
