Return to Samoa

Somehow we made it onto the plane with way too much luggage... we thought we were early because there was no queue but we were the last to check in to a full flight - 74 passengers were on their way to one wedding so the party had already started and the bar ran dry. Zoe took it all in her stride. Zoe and Nifo have fallen in love so weekdays are one long playtime...
and weekends are for relaxing in the pool with Mum.

Back home in Samoa

We have been back in Samoa about 3 weeks now, and have had time to get back into the groove. Zoe thinks our house is quite comfortable and likes lying under the fish mobile. She is practising for her first snorkelling adventure.

...there has been quite a lot of activity in our absence with preparations for the South Pacific Games, which Samoa is hosting in Aug/Sept this year. A new hotel is going up just down the hill from us - this is the frame for the fale.

Its all quite tiring!

South East Cape - 16th Feb

An irresistible swell, fine weather forecast and Zoe's 4 weeks birthday were all good reasons to hike 15km return to South East Cape. The prospect of a wave or two meant Pooley didn't mind carrying board, bag and baby. Amanda just had to walk. The fine forecast ended up being 35 degrees plus so Amanda and Zoe sheltered in a cave while Pooley surfed. Once the sun hit the cave we waited it out in fhe forest until it was cool enough to walk home. We made it back just ahead of a big electrical storm that caused chaos and flash flooding in and around Hobart. Top day!

Weddings, parties...

In the six weeks or so between Zoe's birth and our return to Samoa there was plenty to celebrate and do so with style: Matt and Soph's beach wedding, a boat named after Zoe at the wooden boat festival...

... Anything!

...Tris and Em's garden engagement party and Bec and Kieren's mountain wedding. The great Tassie summer did not disappoint!
